Currently, the number of decks made in Japan is very few, but there is an advantage to this. The deck's ability to flex and rebound, an absolute necessity in order to perform tricks, is largely dependent on the water content of the wood used in the deck. In a humid country like Japan, controlling the water content of wood is especially difficult. As Outre's skateboard deck is created in Japan by a manufacturer well used to working with wood in this difficult environment, we have produced a deck which is ideally suited to its environment, a strength that is reflected all the more strongly in skaters' performance.
